November 2025

Dear Secondary Students and Families:

It’s hard to believe we’re already well into November! The fall semester has been full of learning, leadership, and community. I continue to be impressed by our students’ enthusiasm and our staff’s dedication to creating meaningful opportunities for growth both inside and outside the classroom.

Here are just a few highlights:

🧭 Leadership Opportunities for Students

Leadership is thriving at PACT! We have officially launched DECA, Chick-fil-A Leader Academy, National Junior Honor Society (NJHS), National Honor Society (NHS), and Student Council for the year. These programs are not just about developing skills, but also about showcasing our students' achievements. They are gaining confidence, learning service-minded leadership, and acquiring soft skills that will last a lifetime.

  • DECA is fundraising and attending regional events, preparing for competitions that connect classroom learning to real-world business experiences. They have been doing a great job taking over our Cookie Fridays!
  • Chick-fil-A Leader Academy kicked off with an inspiring visit from local owner Alex McLaughlin and (of course) some Chick-fil-A treats. Students have also just completed their first service project with the Million Book Giveaway, which aims to encourage literacy among our Elementary Campus students.
  • NHS and NJHS recently completed their first post-induction event—a successful blood drive that directly supported our community. This is a testament to the impact our students can make when they come together for a common cause.
  • Student Council has hit the ground running, planning spirit events, organizing student announcements, and gearing up for a school-wide food drive next week.

We’re incredibly proud of these young leaders and grateful to our staff who guide them in their advisory roles.

❤️ School Pride and Student Voice

Our Student Council has also been hard at work creating a positive and spirited school culture. This year’s morning announcement auditions showcased a wide range of voices, and we now have rotating student announcers who bring energy, humor, and important information to start each day.

Student Council held its first high school dance of the year on November 13—a chance for students to relax, have fun, and celebrate being part of the PACT community. The theme was country western, and our students enjoyed some time together that went beyond academics. It’s wonderful to see students take ownership of events that strengthen our school pride!

🎨 8th Grade Art: Real-World Creativity

Art with a purpose! Our eighth-grade art students recently partnered with the local Humane Society to create portraits of adoptable animals. This project not only showcased their artistic skills but also their compassion. The artwork will be displayed to help these pets find loving homes.

The project combined compassion, artistic skills, and real-world application—three values at the heart of PACT’s approach to learning. The Humane Society staff were so impressed that they’ve already invited our students to collaborate again next semester!

💻 PACT Online Campus – Preview Night November 18

We’re excited to share more about our growing PACT Online Campus, a fully online learning option for grades 6-12. This program provides students with flexibility, personalized support, and the same strong community and academic standards that define PACT’s in-person experience.

Families interested in exploring online learning are invited to join our Preview Night on Tuesday, November 18, to meet staff, ask questions, and learn more about how PACT Online can fit your student’s needs.

☕ Principal Perk Up: December 12

Mark your calendars for our next Principal Perk Up on Friday, December 12! This is an informal opportunity for parents and guardians to enjoy coffee, connect, and share feedback directly with school leadership.

At this session, we’ll be gathering input as we explore possible updates to the secondary campus schedule for future years. Your voice is an essential part of this conversation, and we hope you’ll join us to share your thoughts and questions.

We will be meeting at 8:00 a.m. in the Media Center; we’d love to see you there!

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of PACT. We are grateful for the energy, kindness, and curiosity our students bring each day—it truly makes our school a special place. Your support and involvement in our school community are invaluable, and we look forward to continuing to work together for the benefit of our students.

Warmly,

Dr. Shawn Lohse
Secondary Principal
