PACT Launches DECA Program

PACT’s Secondary Campus is excited to announce the launch of a DECA program for high school students. This new initiative will provide students with valuable opportunities to develop their leadership, business, and entrepreneurial skills through real-world experiences and competitive events.
DECA, a globally recognized organization, prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through participation in DECA, PACT students gain access to various resources, networking opportunities, and competitive events at the regional, state, and national levels.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to enhance their business skills and leadership capabilities,” said Dr. Shawn Lohse, Secondary Principal at PACT. “DECA will align with our commitment to offering hands-on learning experiences that equip students for future success.”
The DECA program will be open to high school students eager to acquire practical business knowledge, improve their public speaking skills, and work with peers on innovative projects. Students will have the opportunity to engage in business simulations, marketing campaigns, and community service initiatives while learning from industry professionals.
“We aim to provide our students with every possible advantage in preparing for their future careers,” said Jason Tossey, a Secondary Social Studies Teacher who will serve as the DECA advisor. “DECA is a proven program that builds confidence, fosters creativity, and helps students develop the skills they need to succeed in today’s workforce.”
The launch of DECA at PACT Secondary marks a significant step forward in expanding extracurricular opportunities that align with career readiness and professional development. Students interested in joining DECA can contact Mr. Tossey (j.tossey@pactcharter.org).
